La Pergola Ristorante at Rome Cavalieri in Rome, Italy

One of the highlights of my Grand Tour 2012 was a 9-course dinner at La Pergola Ristorante in Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria in Rome, Italy.

My brother and I made sure we are going to have an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

La Pergola truly delivered.

The entire restaurant screams grandeur in all sides as soon as the elevator opens and the hostess welcomed us at the lobby. She confirmed our names and reservation and assisted us to the terrance overlooking the whole of Rome. We can see the dome of the St Peter's Basilica to the right and we can feel the crispy air. The Spring season was ending and yet the temperature from top was still comfortable for an outside dinner.

Everyone was welcoming and helpful, very professional.

The table setting is divine. I can't wait for the 9 courses to come!

We were served with bread, butter, black salt, pink salt and olive oil.

All smiles! I couldn't contain my excitement ^_^

My brother's white wine and My Four Seasons drink

First course. every bite was slow. I was rolling the food all over my tongue.

Second course. I didn't want to touch it. A work of Art.

Third course. One piece of prawn. I was in cloud nine!

Fourth course was a soup. Fifth course above was a symphony of flavor

Sixth Course was a fish again so soft and every bite was a memory lane of your childhood

Seventh Course. It was and ice cream with a surprise inside :)

Eight Course. Lovely dessert! I finished every everything!

Ninth Course. Cheese, cheese and cheese

This was a complimentary gift of executiveChef Heinz Beck

Before the night ended. Chef Heinz came out to meet every guests and we had a photo op with him.

Over all, it was a night to remember. One I can tick off my bucket list. It's a very rare opportunity for me to dine at a 3-star michelin restaurant. I will remember it for the rest of my life. Also, that it was the most expensive dinner I think I will ever have in just one sitting. 100% worth it!
